Maternity Care Opportunities at Northern Health Authority

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our maternity services department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering nursing care to patients with a focus on antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in training and education programs to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Training and Development

We offer a comprehensive training program for our Registered Nurses, including:

  • 4 training positions available
  • Funding for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses
  • 3-4 month commitment for education
  • Additional study time may be required
  • Flexibility for practicum placements
  • Completion of education program required

Work Environment

Our 44-bed Acute Care facility provides a dynamic and supportive work environment, with:

  • Average of 24,700 ER visits per year
  • Services include psychiatric unit, surgical suites, ICU beds, and community-based programs

Qualifications

  • Current registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Obstetrical course completion
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Fetal Health Surveillance certification
  • Basic Life Support certification
