About Us:

At HealthOPM, we are committed to addressing the workforce gaps in the healthcare sector. We collaborate with clients across all healthcare settings, including long-term care, retirement communities, hospitals, health centres, and community clinics throughout Southern Ontario.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide assistance in daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility support. The ideal candidate will have a Personal Support Worker Certificate and previous experience in a seniors home, long-term care facility, or hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide residents with assistance in daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility support.
  • Administer medication reminders and light housekeeping duties as required.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and co-workers, contributing to a supportive team environment.
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report on resident status and collaborate with the care team.
Requirements:
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate
  • Previous experience in a seniors home, long-term care facility, or hospital
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Proof of current immunizations for MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella)
  • Proof of negative TB skin test within the past year or negative chest x-ray within the past five years
  • Recent Police Background Check
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Membership with the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association
