Job Summary

United Carriers Ltd. is seeking a reliable and organized Truck Driver to join our team for short haul routes. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and ensuring the condition of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our vehicles, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of our vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Payment and Receipt: Process payments for goods and receive payments from customers, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to ensure minimal downtime and maintain our high standards of service.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to our central dispatch team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Possess a valid Class 1 or A Driver's License.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Flexibility, organization, and reliability are essential for this role.
