Bakery Decorator Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join Calgary Co-op as a Bakery Decorator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring customer service is provided through maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to all Company policies, procedures, and standards.

The Bakery Decorator is responsible for providing direction and supervision to Bakery Utility Clerks in the absence of the Bakery Supervisor. The position reports directly to the Bakery Supervisor/Bakery Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
  • Performs all aspects of the Bakery Decorator functions, including but not limited to stocking, displays, and facing in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Handles merchandise, ensuring quality, minimizing damages, and markdowns.
  • Performs general cleanup duties, such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure neat and organized department.
  • Ensures the proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Responsible for all aspects of ordering merchandise and supplies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of receiving, including reviewing/verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims, and proper storage of products.
  • Responsible for organizing and conducting inventory.
  • Provides direction/supervision in the Bakery in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Combination of bakery and decorating training and experience.
  • Must pass in-house Bakery Decorator testing.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • . or Wilton Decorating course or equivalent experience.
