About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Bakery Decorator at Calgary Co-op. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional service and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service and maintain positive customer relations through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Perform all aspects of bakery decorating functions, including stocking, displays, and facing, in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Handle merchandise, ensuring quality, minimizing damages, and markdowns, and providing substitutions and price integrity.
  • Perform general cleanup duties, including cleaning spills and display fixtures, to ensure a neat and organized department.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for the proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment and tools, and reporting repair requirements to the Bakery or Duty Manager.
  • Responsible for all aspects of ordering merchandise and supplies, and receiving, including reviewing and verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims, and proper storage of products.
  • Responsible for organizing and conducting inventory, and providing direction and supervision in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Combination of bakery and decorating training and experience.
  • Must pass in-house Bakery Decorator testing.
  • Supervisory experience and/or completion of a decorating course, such as Wilton Decorating, or equivalent experience.
