About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is designed to support the growth of York University's Indigenous portfolio, with a focus on providing leadership in supporting the Indigenous Council and the implementation of Indigenous strategic directions.

As a senior leader, you will work closely with academic and administrative leaders to enhance the mission of York University through programs and activities that promote Indigenization, Decolonization, and Reconciliation.

You will be responsible for operationalizing an institutional vision of Indigenous Initiatives at York, working in collaboration with the community to advance strategic objectives within the portfolio of Indigenous Initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing leadership in supporting the Indigenous Council
  • Implementing Indigenous strategic directions
  • Working closely with academic and administrative leaders to enhance the mission of York University
  • Operationalizing an institutional vision of Indigenous Initiatives
Requirements:

To be considered for this opportunity, you must bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 10 years of related experience
  • 7 years of management experience
  • A proven track record of embedding practices of decolonizing, equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated history of meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers
