Vice President of Exploration – Gold Exploration Company

A well-funded gold exploration company with a significant land package in the Canadian Shield is seeking a Vice President of Exploration to lead its exploration efforts. The company maintains a strong pipeline of targets, ranging from historic gold mines to early-stage prospects, and is led by a technically focused team with a track record of success.

This role will work closely with the executive leadership to drive exploration strategy and execution. The position is structured as a hybrid role, requiring time on-site during active exploration programs, with flexibility for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement an effective exploration strategy.
  • Plan, budget, and execute exploration programs across a broad portfolio of projects.
  • Lead and manage the exploration team, ensuring technical excellence in all geological activities.
  • Oversee all aspects of exploration, including geochemistry, geology, drilling, and 3D modeling.
  • Interpret geological and drilling data to refine targeting strategies using software such as QGIS, Leapfrog, and IoGas.
  • Ensure compliance with NI 43-101 standards, QA/QC protocols, and permitting requirements.
  • Conduct due diligence and evaluation of potential new acquisitions.
  • Represent the company in investor meetings, conferences, and other external engagements as required.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Geologist (P.Geo) with 15+ years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, specifically gold.
  • Proven track record in project generation, discovery, and resource development.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Advanced understanding of Archean orogenic gold systems and modern exploration methodologies.
  • Expertise in GIS and 3D modeling software (QGIS, Leapfrog, IoGas).
  • Experience working within NI 43-101 guidelines and contributing to technical reports.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with regulators, communities, and investors.
