Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Lead to join our team at Dhabba on the Falls. As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department.
About the Role
- This is a permanent position with an estimated annual salary range of $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Establish efficient methods to meet work schedules and ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records and minimizing waste.
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing excess.
- Hire and manage food service staff, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain high-quality standards for food and service, addressing customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Prepare budget and cost estimates, analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.
- Establish work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage during peak periods.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role within a food service environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to motivate and lead teams effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy work environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
