Data Centre Operator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Operator to join our team at Canning's Personal Care Home. As a Data Centre Operator, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and administration of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure software and hardware for data centre operations
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and mainframe networks
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in data centre operations
  • Strong knowledge of networking software, file management software, database software, and MS Office
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent client service
  • Initiative, judgement, and organized with a client-focused approach
