Job Title: Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our EEG Clinic, you will be responsible for performing EEG recordings, interpreting results, and implementing alternative methods or adjusting controls to obtain optimal recordings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analogue and digital EEG recordings, catering to the age and needs of patients from pre-term to young adults.
  • Write comprehensive patient histories, determine presenting problems, and direct tests accordingly.
  • Explain procedures to patients and family members, answer questions, and document clinical activities during seizures or emergent situations.
  • Recognize and document artifacts, eliminate or monitor them, and apply EOG, EKG, EMG, and transducers as needed.
  • Perform ambulatory monitoring, apply electrodes, program hard drives, and analyze and classify EEG data.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved Electrophysiology Course with certification or equivalent experience.
  • One year of recent pediatric experience preferred.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Registration with the Canadian or American Board of Registration for Electroencephalograph Technologists.
