Diagnostic Neurophysiology Specialist, EEG Services

At PHSA, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Diagnostic Neurophysiology Specialist, EEG Services, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced intraoperative monitoring, including brainstem cranial nerve monitoring and mapping of the fourth ventricle.
  • Conduct electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings during special events such as Sodium Amytal (WADA) testing, SPECT scans, and high-resolution EEG studies.
  • Review digital seizure data, identify segments of interest for physicians, and save the segment to disk. Annotate files with EEG and clinical findings. Correlate video of ictal events.
  • Apply electrical stimulation to the penis/clitoris or anus and record pudendal evoked potentials. Apply electrical stimulation to spinal nerve roots and convey threshold levels and clinical muscular responses to surgeons during laminectomies, rhizotomies, and tethered cord surgeries.
  • Perform EMG/NC in the laboratory, at the bedside, or in the operating room.
  • Perform analogue and digital EEG recordings. During EEG testing, ask patients questions to demonstrate responsiveness and document patient clinical activities during a seizure or other emergent situation. Review data collected during events. Provide hard copy printouts and factual reports of clinical and electrical events. Document video times for archiving and complete appropriate forms.
  • Perform ambulatory monitoring (AM). Apply electrodes and program hard drives to collect data with appropriate parameters as determined by the presenting history. Disconnect patients, transfer collected data to the hospital network, and reformat hard drives. Analyze and classify EEG data.
