George Brown College is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Acquisition Manager to support the development and execution of complex capital projects, including construction, infrastructure, marketing, and IT acquisitions.

Job Description

As a Strategic Sourcing Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives, researching, developing, and preparing bid documents for complex procurements. You will also facilitate evaluation teams in the e-bidding platform Bonfire and track contracts created in the Contract Management tool.

You will provide advice and solutions for the procurement of goods, services, and projects, creating and organizing bidding documents, and leading RFX consensus meetings. Additionally, you will prepare and expedite contract negotiation, award letters, and regret letters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project management principles, risk management, and interpretation of legislation and regulatory requirements within a BPS contractual framework. They will also possess excellent collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to travel for site visits, stakeholder meetings, supplier events, training, and workshops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for complex capital projects.
  • Develop and prepare bid documents for high-value procurements.
  • Facilitate evaluation teams in the e-bidding platform Bonfire.
  • Track contracts created in the Contract Management tool.
  • Provide advice and solutions for procurement.
  • Create and organize bidding documents.
  • Prepare and expedite contract negotiation.
  • Attend trade shows, purchasing courses, and seminars.
Requirements

A minimum of eight (8) years of Public Sector Procurement experience leading multiple competitive bid events for a large multi-facility organization is required. A three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution related to Business, as well as completion of one course offered by either the Ontario Public Buyers Association or the Supply Chain Management Association, is also necessary.

Solid experience in procurement/compliance strategies and RFx bid evaluation, as well as working experience utilizing procurement and financial data to improve process efficiencies or cost savings, are highly valued. The ideal candidate will also possess comprehensive knowledge of eProcurement systems and ERP software.
