About This Role

Raise is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer (P&C Systems Specialist) to join our client, a leading electrical energy supplier in Canada. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving complex projects forward and ensuring their successful completion.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and coordinate multi-discipline design teams to develop safe and effective engineering solutions for medium to highly complex assignments.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to meet safety, cost, quality, and time objectives by proposing changes in plans and estimated costs, recommending payment for work completed by contractors, preparing progress reports, and coordinating work schedules.
  3. Resolve technical and unusual design and field engineering problems by conducting independent studies and analysis, exercising judgment in selecting and interpreting information, and recommending safe engineering designs to support successful operations and/or project completion.
  4. Contribute to the development of technical standards and participate in the engineering practice by conducting independent studies and analysis, exercising judgment in selecting and interpreting information, and recommending safe engineering designs.
  5. Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of engineering services, establishing design criteria, approving technical documentation, and assessing and reporting on work progress against standards and specifications.
Requirements
  1. Must have extensive experience in protection and control engineering.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent, with a solid electric utility engineering background and the ability to think from a transmission system and operations perspective.
  3. 4 years of working experience in leading or coordinating multi-discipline design teams.
  4. Good working knowledge of typical protection and control components, including protection relays, control and automation devices, RTU, SCADA, RAS, and other teleprotection devices.
  5. Familiarity with NERC requirements.
  6. Good working knowledge of design, substations, protection, control, and telecom systems is an asset for this role.
Education and Skills
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. P.Eng registration and Permit to Practice.
  3. Intermediate English skills for professional environment, written and spoken.
  4. Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards.
  5. Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software.
  6. Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  7. Good working knowledge of project management principles and roles.
  8. Advanced written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal, influencing, and conflict resolution skills.

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Located in Burnaby, BC. We offer a competitive benefits package.
