About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Chief Millwright to lead our wastewater maintenance team in Nanaimo, BC. This is a permanent full-time position that offers a competitive hourly wage of $48.35 and a range of benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading maintenance efforts to ensure effective operation of wastewater treatment facilities
  • Overseeing administrative and mechanical operations, including inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures and safe work practices
  • Managing project planning, operating budgets, and purchasing tools and parts
Requirements:
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright certification
  • 5+ years of experience in wastewater treatment or relevant industries
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to undergo a criminal record check
Preferred Skills:
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, valves, machinery, and controls
  • Expertise in metal fabrication, including welding and working with steel and aluminum
  • Strong understanding of WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS regulations
