Retail Store Leader

About the Role
As a Retail Store Leader, you will play a crucial part in driving sales, profitability, and operational goals for our store by guiding hourly associates in day-to-day procedures. Your leadership will help shape the end-to-end experience for consumers, focusing on providing a unique and exceptional experience for Halo and creators club customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Enable and Support a Best-in-Class Environment: Foster an environment within the retail fleet that promotes acceptance, education, and awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Communicate Brand Values: Positively communicate and demonstrate adidas brand values, attitude, and culture to hourly associates and consumers.
- Manage Service Experience: Oversee the end-to-end service experience of all consumer touchpoints, ensuring high-quality interactions at each step and touchpoint.
- Cultivate Consumer Centricity: Establish and maintain a culture of consumer centricity within the store and team, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support Global Guidelines: Assist management in implementing global brand and consumer experience guidelines within the store.
- Role Model Adidas Values: Positively communicate and role-model adidas brand values to promote a positive work environment and exceptional customer service.
- Foster Loyalty: Develop consumer loyalty through high-quality interactions, add-on sales, and product knowledge training.
- Lead Daily Operations: Guide hourly associates in daily operations, including sales, customer service, merchandising, and stock location, to achieve excellent customer service and maximize sales.
- Train Associates: Conduct one-on-one and small group training presentations on product knowledge, store activities, job duties, and established policies and procedures.
- Document Completion: Complete documentation associated with applicants and new hires, including job postings, interviews, and performance evaluations.
- Merchandise Display: Assist management in displaying merchandise in windows, showcases, and on the sales floor to attract attention and promote sales.
- Staffing and Labor Control: Assist in maintaining staffing and labor cost control standards, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Point of Sale System Proficiency: Utilize the point-of-sale system effectively, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in transactions and inventory management.
- Sales Transactions: Complete regular sales transactions involving cash, credit, checks, and other payment methods.
- Ticketing and Product Flow: Assist with ticketing products, checking paperwork against items received, and maintaining sales floor fill-ins.
- Product Communication: Communicate product levels and assortments with management to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Project Updates: Provide updates on assigned projects, such as floor change-outs, processing shipments, and sales/markdown set-ups.
- Daily Duties: Perform various daily duties, including sales, customer service, merchandising, and store upkeep, to lead by example and support hourly associates.
- Store Upkeeping: Direct the performance of store upkeeping duties, ensuring a clean and organized store environment.
- Customer Complaints: Listen to customer complaints, examine returned merchandise, and resolve problems to restore good public relations.
- Exceptional Customer Service: Ensure high-quality interactions with customers, utilizing selling techniques to enhance salesmanship and reach store and position sales goals.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to meet business objectives.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Retail Experience: College or university degree and 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the sporting apparel and footwear industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Three to Six Months' Retail Experience: Three to six months of retail experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and point-of-sale systems; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Work Schedule: Must be able to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays, with flexibility to work overtime hours during peak sales periods.
- Physical Demands: Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and Move: Frequently lift and/or move up to 12 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 34 kg.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $18.00-$23.00 per hour. Actual hourly rate will be based on various factors, including your experience, qualifications, skills, and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
