Job Summary:

Wood is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing measuring and control devices used in industrial processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic measuring and control devices
  • Read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Use power, pneumatic, electronic, and hand tools
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights, as well as in noisy conditions
  • Work indoors and outdoors, and at extreme temperatures

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of 4-year apprenticeship in the trade, followed by Journeyperson Certification, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in industrial construction, maintenance, fabrication, and/or repair
  • Journeypersons in the trade must demonstrate competence in their trade
  • Offshore Certificates and Training, such as Basic Survival Training, Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman, Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015), are required and considered an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test and CAPP Medical as required by the customer
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions
  • Able to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol
  • May be required to work 12-hour shifts performing physical labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and steel framework, utilizing proper fall arrest procedures when required
  • Able to meet physical requirements of frequent walking, climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and crawling for the duration of the shift
