Capital Markets Financial Risk Co-op

This role is designed for students who want to gain hands-on experience in financial risk management. As a Summer 2025 Co-op, you will support the Capital Markets Financial Risk team in the CAE/Internal Audit Group.

The team provides an independent and objective assessment of Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk practices, with coverage across RBC entities globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of technical audits related to Market risk and Counterparty Credit risk topics, including risk governance, policy framework, risk appetite, limit structure, risk measurement, reporting, capital aggregation, stress testing, and model risk.
  • Assist with the validation of audit issues.
  • Help develop and maintain working relationships with business stakeholders to become a trusted advisor.
  • Assist in conducting effective continuous risk monitoring activities and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Working towards a Finance/Business-related university degree.
  • General understanding and awareness of capital markets and/or financial risk concepts.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conceptual thinking.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
