About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Retirement Consultant to join our team at Aon. As a key member of our Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) team, you will play a critical role in delivering defined contribution retirement plan services to our clients.

As a Retirement Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing expert advice on defined contribution investment strategies, DC products and investment platforms, and fund manager recommendations. You will also be responsible for ongoing investment monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and changes in legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and consult on Defined Contribution Group Retirement Savings Programs.
  • Lead client relationships for small to medium-sized accounts, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Focus on positive member outcomes and work closely with clients to understand their needs.
  • Develop and participate in effective presentations for existing or prospective clients, individually or in concert with team members.
  • Utilize strong technical investment knowledge and experience to provide high-quality advice and support.
  • Manage routine client projects, such as provider review exercises, investment strategy reviews, and program development, with minimal oversight.
  • Prepare meeting materials and ensure all project needs are met and proceeding on schedule.
  • Participate in business development activities and collaborate with other experienced team members to achieve client results.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with Defined Contribution Retirement Savings Plan consulting or a related field.
  • Experience advising clients on defined contribution investment strategies, DC products and investment platforms, fund manager recommendations, and ongoing investment monitoring.
  • French/English bilingualism preferred due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces, and/or internationally.
  • Organization skills, rigour, and thoroughness.
  • Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Commerce, or a similar area of focus is an asset.
