The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists in our Finance department within the Corporate division for a Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting located in Toronto, Ontario. This position prepares the Corporate office's journal entries, manages accounts payable, and prepares Corporate's financial statements, including its balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows. In addition, this position is accountable for monthly account reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliations with other business units, and supports the resolution of system issues and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DAG) guidelines, including cash journal entries.
  • Ensure the completeness of month-end reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including intercompany reconciliations.
  • Track and analyze monthly expenditure accruals and reversals by cost center.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Provide requested information and respond to queries from internal stakeholders, as well as external and internal auditors during quarter-end and year-end in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with IT to resolve system issues and user requirements related to the Concur travel system, automated accounts payable bot, ERP, and consolidation system.
