About This Opportunity

United Way Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Philanthropy Leader to join our team. As a key member of our leadership, you will play a crucial role in driving fundraising efforts and ensuring the continued success of our philanthropic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Generation
    • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve revenue growth targets.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage United Way Canada's brand and expertise in pursuit of new funding opportunities.
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective execution of fundraising initiatives.
    • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and financial stewardship.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the philanthropy team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH STAKEHOLDERS THROUGH EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, ACTIVE LISTENING, AND A PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH.
    • DEVELOP AND EXECUTE COMPREHENSIVE STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO MAXIMIZE PARTNERSHIP POTENTIAL AND DRIVE FUNDRAISING RESULTS.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in senior fundraising roles, preferably in a non-profit or charity setting.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth targets and developing successful fundraising strategies.
  • Strong understanding of philanthropy best practices, including donor stewardship, relationship-building, and communication techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and project management skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think critically, analyze complex information, and make informed decisions.
