We have openings for this position for days, evenings, and nights. As a member of our nursing team, you will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse and report to the Director of Care while providing nursing and personal care to residents.

Responsibilities include:

">
  • ">
  • Complying with all legislative standards, company policies/procedures, and rules/regulations in a professional manner.">
  • Reporting to the Director of Care/Director of Nursing.">
  • Reviewing 24-72 hour reports at the beginning of the shift.">
  • Participating in the development and modification of resident's plans of care.">
  • Monitoring resident's health and noting any changes in condition appropriately.">
  • Participating in restorative care programs.">
  • Assisting in training and directing non-registered nursing staff in providing care to residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse.">
  • Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team.">
  • Assuming responsibility for the operation of the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse as required.">
  • Participating in the quality assurance process and ongoing activities.">
  • Following all health and safety and safe work practices and guidelines.">
  • Identifying and correcting inappropriate work practices that may affect the health and safety of co-workers.">
  • Reporting any actual or potential hazards to the immediate supervisor.">
  • Being involved in infection prevention and control in the home, including the utilization of the Infection Control Surveillance Program on Point Click Care.">
  • Promptly reporting personal injury to the supervisor and seeking first aid as needed.">
  • Participating in fire safety activities and knowing the facility's fire and disaster plan.">
  • Complying with WSIB company policies and procedures.">
  • Reporting any incidents immediately to the supervisor.">
  • Complying with all computer confidentiality requirements.">
  • Reporting function inconsistencies immediately to the supervisor.">
  • Assisting in providing direction and leadership to subordinates.">
  • Acting on direction from physicians' orders and prescribed standards.">
  • Having access to Point Click Care.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Experience in Long-Term Care considered an asset.">
  • Registered with a regulatory body.">
  • Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.">
  • Education and/or experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.">
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management, and customer focus skills.">
  • Skills in use of computer and Microsoft Office applications.">

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
