About This Career Opportunity
Black & McDonald is seeking a skilled Apprentice Plumber to join our Service Division in Regina, SK. If you're a hands-on, customer service-oriented professional looking to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you.
The successful candidate will be skilled in all manner of pipe joining methods, comfortable with industry-specific hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tools, and adept at reading and interpreting technical literature. Day-to-day work may require long hours and lifting heavy loads.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the site foreman, move/haul material, pull water lines, fire caulking, thread pipe, and assist with other tasks.
- Second-year apprentices will independently thread pipe, install laundry boxes, and with supervision, begin drainage and assist with other tasks.
- Perform other duties as required.

Education Requirements
- WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training is considered an asset.

Work Experience Requirements
- Relevant Industry Experience (Required)
- Consideration may be given to those who do not possess all the above requirements if they are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, passion for the trade, and a desire to learn.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
- Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strength, stamina, and the use of proper lifting techniques required to handle heavy tools and parts weighing up to 25 kilograms
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying
- Ability to work in high, awkward, and noisy places
- Ability to work alone and with others
- The ability to contribute to a highly team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills
