Position Overview

The University of Regina invites applications for a clinical nursing practicum coach. This role requires registered nurses or registered psychiatric nurses with recent clinical experience across multiple care areas to join our team.

About the Role

This position encompasses instruction, supervision, mentorship, and evaluation of nursing students in various practice education settings throughout years 1-4 of the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for formative and summative evaluation of students' practice education performance related to course competencies and learning outcomes. Responsibilities may include determining students' practice education assignments, practice education instruction, evaluation of student progress, and support within the agency during student research time.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  1. Practicing membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) and/or the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS);
  2. CPR BLS Provider or BLS (HCP) must be current within two years;
  3. TLR must be current within three years;
  4. Mask fit testing must be current within three years;
  5. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing;
  6. Minimum of two years recent and relevant experience as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse;
  7. Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  8. Application of theory, practices, and principles of adult education; and,
  9. Facilitation and interaction in small groups by leading, modelling, and teaching.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The University of Regina offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a pension plan.
