Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Nurse Lead to join our team at Health Careers in Sask. In this role, you will provide complex nursing services to a community mental health and addictions population.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing screening, triage, assessment, treatment, and case coordination services. You will also be responsible for program consultation and co-ordination, evaluation of clinical interventions, supervision, preceptorship of students, and professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing services to clients with complex mental health and addiction needs
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify client needs and develop strategies for intervention
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and organizations to facilitate access to resources and services
  • Supervise and mentor new staff members and students

Requirements:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse with experience in mental health and addiction services. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A psychiatric nursing diploma or general nursing diploma supplemented by recognized training in psychiatric nursing
  • Registration as a Psychiatric Nurse in the Province of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
  • A minimum of 2 years recent recognized Mental Health & Addiction experience
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Excellent knowledge and skills related to community psychiatric nursing practice
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
