About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Specialist to join our team as a Deputy Fire Marshal. In this critical role, you will play a key part in implementing fire safety and prevention measures across the province.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on fire safety regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct thorough fire and life safety inspections to ensure compliance with provincial standards.
  • Investigate fires and determine their cause, origin, and circumstances.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance fire safety awareness and preparedness.
Qualifications and Experience

You must be a certified fire inspector with at least eight years of experience in fire safety, enforcement, and prevention. You should possess excellent communication and diplomacy skills, as well as a strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and building codes.

Assets include:

  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1033 Standard (Fire Investigator)
  • Successful completion of courses recognized by the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing in fire prevention, fire inspection, and fire investigation.
