About the Job: We are seeking an enthusiastic Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our team at Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre. This role involves leading programs for children aged 0-12 years old in a positive and professional manner, facilitating games and activities, and building meaningful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs for children aged 0-12 years old, promoting active and creative play
  • Facilitate games and activities for various children's programs
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, members, visitors, and colleagues
  • Navigate challenging conflict situations using YMCA standards and procedures
  • Perform general administrative duties and record keeping responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA policies

Requirements:

  • Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years)
  • Experience working with children – preferred
  • Demonstrate high level of customer service skills
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • 3 professional references
