The Intuit Design System (IDS) drives this mission forward by providing innovative and foundational design system guidelines, tools, and services that support designers and developers across various Intuit offerings including TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, Mailchimp, and more.

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Strategist to join our IDS team focused on design foundations. This role will play a crucial part in accelerating business outcomes across the organization by identifying opportunities for existing IDS assets and developing partnerships that influence IDS' strategic direction.

The successful candidate will lead the visual and technical direction of our foundational design tokens, including experience design, visual style, and technical tooling. They will also extend the design system language to influence the company's ability to design for emotion at scale, utilizing industry knowledge, customer insights, and trend analysis to develop innovative experiences that challenge and delight customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accelerate Business Outcomes: Identify opportunities for existing IDS assets to drive business growth and develop partnerships that shape IDS' strategic direction.
  • Lead Design Token Direction: Guide the visual and technical direction of our foundational design tokens, ensuring consistency and excellence across all Intuit offerings.
  • Extend Design System Language: Develop and implement innovative design solutions that enable the company to design for emotion at scale, leveraging industry trends, customer insights, and expert knowledge.
  • Mentor and Collaborate: Mentor other designers with systems thinking adjacencies and collaborate with brand and product/marketing design teams to deliver end-to-end design solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Expertise in Figma: Create and maintain Figma variables and libraries, focusing on syncing design and code to improve design tools and processes.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in system design, visual design, interaction design, product design, product engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in system design, visual design, interaction design, product design, product engineering, or a related field.
  • Masterful skills in design tools, especially Figma, and design system technology, with a deep understanding of design token best practices, versioning, performance optimization, and analytics.
  • Past experience in designing and implementing design systems that positively impact millions of customers.
  • A track record of delivering breakthrough adoption of design system tools, processes, or artifacts through design and development advocacy.

Our estimated salary range for this position is $**$150,000 - $200,000 per year**, depending on location and qualifications.
