About the Role

As a key member of our team, the Delivery Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the scheduling and dispatching of our drivers, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This position requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop a dedicated team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Strategic Improvement: Partner with the National Logistics Management team, regional managers, and field staff to gather feedback and implement strategic enhancements in delivery and logistics.
  • Best Practices Development: Work closely with fellow Delivery Managers to identify, develop, and implement industry best practices, ensuring standardized processes are consistently applied and enforced across the team.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluate team and individual performance against key performance indicators such as "Out of Gas" incidents, resource utilization, and overtime management.
  • Technology Utilization: Champion the use of technology to optimize delivery routes and schedules, ensuring customer needs are met while adhering to safety standards.
  • Team Coaching and Development: Mentor and support the team in achieving their goals through the enforcement of standardized procedures, promoting effective work methods, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Safety Promotion: Ensure that safety remains a top priority in all delivery and service aspects, overseeing training initiatives to support safe dispatch and delivery operations.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as a point of escalation for Delivery Coordinators and Planning Specialists, collaborating with the team to proactively troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of people leadership experience preferably in distribution, logistics or customer service.
  • Completion of post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to balance regional and national objectives effectively.
  • Proven team management experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate a high-performance workforce.
  • Conflict resolution skills and proven ability to navigate challenging situations.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet peak demand pressures.
  • Understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and emergency response protocols.
  • Above-average analytical skills, including logistics planning, budget management, and general financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and support for change initiatives.
  • Superior organization and time management abilities, thriving under pressure and adjusting to shifting priorities.
