Director, Financial Investigations and Governance

Scotiabank is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director to lead our Canadian Financial Investigations and Governance team. As a key member of our Financial Intelligence Unit, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our AML and regulatory compliance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement AML and regulatory compliance strategies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with governing regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of investigators and analysts to conduct complex financial investigations and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with AML and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to business leaders on AML and regulatory compliance matters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, law enforcement, and industry partners.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, law, or business.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in AML and regulatory compliance, with a focus on investigations and risk mitigation.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective AML and regulatory compliance strategies.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of investigators and analysts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
