We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Director, Mental Health. This role will play a critical part in leading the delivery of community counseling services, addictions services, community wellness programs, case management services, and supportive living services across the Northwest Territories.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with government departments, non-government organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the needs of clients with mental health and addictions challenges are met.
- Lead the implementation of the community wellness program for adult homelessness, working in partnership with senior directors at the Department of Health and Social Services.
- Provide operational oversight of Correctional Health Services, ensuring a smooth transition from the Department of Justice and implementing best practice standards.
- Develop and implement comprehensive mental health and wellness practices throughout the Northwest Territories, ensuring best practice standards are met and strategic priorities are achieved.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in nursing, health sciences, or health administration, with a minimum of 10 years of directly related clinical experience, including 5 years of mental health and addictions management experience. Alternatively, an undergraduate degree in nursing or health sciences with 12 years of directly related clinical experience, including 5 years of mental health and addictions management experience, may be considered.
