As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality counselling services to our clients, working collaboratively with our physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting program evaluations, consulting with healthcare professionals, and evaluating the effectiveness of counselling and patient outcomes. You will also be responsible for examining behaviour, interviewing clients, preparing case histories, and assessing problems. Additionally, you will record observations, review reports from healthcare professionals, and supervise other counsellors and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct program evaluations and consult with healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and patient outcomes
  • Examine behaviour, interview clients, prepare case histories, and assess problems
  • Record observations, review reports from healthcare professionals, and supervise other counsellors and staff
  • Use standard psychological tests for assessment and write progress reports
  • Prepare treatment plans for each patient and provide education on health promotion and injury prevention
  • Counsel individuals and groups to achieve personal, social, and vocational development and adjustment
  • Implement treatment plans, perform administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records
  • Plan intervention programs, initiate and design specialized therapy programs, and recruit and hire staff
  • Conduct research, follow up on counselling program results, and administer standard psychological tests for assessment
  • Interpret test results, prepare assessment, progress, and follow-up reports, and provide expert witness testimony in court proceedings
Requirements:
  • Accreditation or registration with the appropriate national, provincial, or territorial professional association
  • Electronic medical records experience and proficiency in MS Office
  • Criminal record check and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and attention to detail
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with a large caseload and tight deadlines
