About the Role
The City of Victoria BC is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Manager to join our IT Leadership Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and administering our cybersecurity program, ensuring the City's IT systems and data are secure and protected from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
- Lead security assessments, audits, risk management, and incident response initiatives to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Collaborate with IT division leadership and other City leaders to communicate the corporate security vision and foster enhanced levels of enterprise security.
- Develop and implement the IT security awareness and training program for City staff and provide guidance and advice on security best practices and requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend current and emerging security technologies, solutions, and best practices to enhance the City's security posture.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Diploma in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, including 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification or equivalent.
