About the Role

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Trail, BC.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced mechanic to work with a diverse fleet of equipment, including diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at GFL, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our vehicles are running smoothly, maintaining local neighborhoods clean and safe.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic and a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards must be met.

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintenance or repairs of diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks as well as associated heavy-duty equipment.
  • Using various power tools, hand instruments, and cutting-edge equipment.
  • Completing daily reports, work orders, and ordering necessary parts.
  • Planning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procuring parts.
  • Assisting in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinating repair schedules.
