**Job Title:** Heavy Duty Mechanic - Trail BC

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at GFL Environmental in Trail, BC.

About the Role:

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with GFL Environmental, you will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet of equipment is up and running smoothly. Your expertise will be essential in keeping our trucks and motorized equipment in top condition, whether it's rebuilding, repairing, or performing routine maintenance.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain and repair diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks as well as associated heavy-duty equipment
  • Use various power tools, hand instruments, and cutting-edge equipment to complete tasks efficiently
  • Complete daily reports, work orders, and order necessary parts to ensure seamless operations
  • Plan and schedule repairs in M5 planner and procure parts to minimize downtime
  • Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups and coordinating repair schedules

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
  • 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records
  • Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job duties
  • Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting items up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to kneel, crawl, and climb
