Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Lead Animator to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience leading a team of animators in a production environment and will be responsible for creating standard-setting animation, mentoring junior animators, and collaborating with other departments to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

* Receive sequence and shot animation performance launches from the Animation Supervisor
* Help set the standard for animation
* Assist the Animation Supervisor in directing and mentoring the animation team
* Collaborate with VFX asset leads to ensure models and rigs drive necessary performances
* Drive communication and collaboration with upstream and downstream disciplines
* Help animators overcome technical problems through collaboration with department Technical Directors (TDs) and production technology teams

Requirements:

* 5+ years' experience as a CG Character Animator in the entertainment industry
* Experience leading a team of animators in a production environment
* Expertise in traditional animation principles, acting, performance, layout, and composition for feature film production
* Strong knowledge of Maya animation tools and workflow
* Experience working in a visual effects pipeline
* Experience working with motion capture data and crowds
* A firm grasp of technical animation issues, including character effects and rigging, is preferred
