Established in 1929, Michael Garron Hospital is a renowned community teaching hospital situated in the heart of East Toronto. Our institution serves a diverse population with an extensive range of inpatient, outpatient, and community-based programs. As part of our esteemed team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside over 3,000 dedicated employees and 400 physicians and midwives.
We are proud to introduce our new eight-story Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre, a transformative project that will redefine healthcare delivery in our community. Strategically located near Coxwell subway station, our hospital offers easy access to major transportation routes and a strong sense of community.
The Pre-Critical Care Team (PCCT) at Michael Garron Hospital provides a unique stepping-stone program for Registered Nurses looking to advance their careers and expand their knowledge in a supportive environment. This exciting opportunity allows nurses to transition from inpatient medical-surgical nursing units to Critical Care areas, bolstering their clinical acute care skills and experience.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess current College of Nurses of Ontario registration and BLS certification. Acute medical surgery experience is preferred, and willingness to participate in critical care-related training is essential.
As a PCCT member, you will be responsible for caring for patients with basic care needs, pursuing educational goals, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and implementing plans of care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, as well as organizational and critical thinking abilities.
MGHC is committed to creating a culture of transparency and accountability, ensuring patient and staff safety through adherence to legislated practices and policies. Employees are expected to contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to MGH's patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $117,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, based on industry standards and location.
