About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at AMAN FURNITURE MFG AND SALE. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for restoring and refurbishing furniture to its original glory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Cost Estimation: Provide accurate cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items.
  • Upholstery Work: Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts, and lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery.
  • Finishing Touches: Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a professional finish.
  • Furniture Repair: Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore their original beauty.
  • Operational Skills: Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interoven rattan to ensure a high-quality finish.
Industry Experience
  • Furniture and fixtures manufacturing company
  • Furniture upholstery and repair shop
Requirements
  • Manual Dexterity: Possess manual dexterity to perform tasks that require precision and attention to detail.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Possess hand-eye coordination to perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
  • Colour Perception: Have the ability to distinguish between colours to ensure accurate colour matching.
  • Physical Capabilities: Be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch and kneel to perform tasks that require physical effort.
  • Work Term: Work on a permanent basis.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 32 hours per week.
