Upholsterer Job Description

At BM Finishing and Upholstery Inc, we are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, custom upholstery for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers to ensure their vision is brought to life.
  • Provide cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items, taking into account materials and labour costs.
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts to ensure the longevity of our clients' furniture.
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery to exacting standards.
  • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a touch of elegance to our clients' furniture.
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore them to their former glory.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs and patterns.
  • Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interwoven rattan to add a touch of sophistication.
Requirements:
  • Attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
  • Hand-eye co-ordination to manipulate tools and materials with precision.
