Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hospital Midwife to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and leadership skills, with a strong ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.



Responsibilities


The Hospital Midwife will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to women and newborns on the Maternal Newborn unit. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as participating in pandemic planning and handovers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing backup and support to community midwives, as well as providing clinical obstetrical coverage for Level 1B obstetrical patients.



Requirements


To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have a Certificate of Registration with the College of Midwives of Ontario, as well as post-graduate certificate in surgical first assist for caesarean birth. The ideal candidate will also have relevant clinical experience, including clinical teaching and a commitment to assisting low-risk patients on the labour and delivery and postpartum unit.
