Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team at RhynoCare. As an LPN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents in long term and acute care facilities in the Port Alberni area.
Key Responsibilities- Nursing Care Delivery
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care in assigned home areas.
- Admission and Discharge Processes
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientations to the home and services offered.
- Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Medication Management
- Ensure the safekeeping and control of drugs and narcotics.
- Follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Nursing Care Planning and Evaluation
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year, as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shift times, including eight (8) or twelve (12) hours in length.
- Ability to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
- Reliability in accepting and adhering to assigned shifts.
- Compliance with RhynoCare's shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
