We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic I to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest safety and performance standards.
Responsibilities- Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs on various systems, including steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and oil, temperature, gas regulating components.
- Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs effectively resolve the issue.
- Arrange for and obtain necessary inspections and approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles from the maintenance facility.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, adhering to all relevant safety regulations.
- Identify and report any additional maintenance or repair needs, including those requiring technicians with higher qualifications.
- Accurately record time spent, parts used, and repairs conducted on designated forms.
- Communicate unsafe maintenance conditions or practices to the Lead Technician.
- Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
- Possess a valid 310T or 310S certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance, specifically with heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
