Job Summary

Battlefield Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Kingston, ON. As a key member of our service department, you will play a critical role in ensuring our equipment is ready and available for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of repair times and communicate expectations
  • Accurately review work orders and parts requests to ensure repairs are being performed to their maximum potential
  • Prepare and present accurate repair quotes to customers in a timely manner
  • Highlight, support, and maintain a strong emphasis on Health and Safety policies and culture to the team
  • Maintain close communication with the Regional Service Manager to ensure continuous and productive work flow
  • Operate and maintain all shop equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organized shop area
  • Manage and control daily work flow in the service area
  • Ensure proper parts ordering and receiving on work orders
  • Maintain a positive team environment while working and assisting other technicians
  • Mentor and assist in growth of apprentices
  • Help train, support, and emphasize company initiatives with respect to bettering our repair and turnaround times
Requirements
  • Prefer Licensed 421A technician
  • Will consider a 3rd/4th year apprentice with the ability to diagnose, perform failure analysis, and repair all types of construction equipment
  • Existing knowledge of construction equipment and building products
  • Hands-on experience in the repair and service/maintenance requirements for various types of heavy construction equipment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Efficient in using scheduling software to manage daily work flow and shifting priorities
