Road Construction and Maintenance Opportunities Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Road Construction and Maintenance Opportunities Specialist to join our team at Dawson Civil in Kamloops, BC.
About the RoleThis permanent, full-time position will play a pivotal role in identifying growth opportunities, securing projects, and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders, including indigenous communities. The successful candidate will work closely with our Manager of Civil to develop and implement a comprehensive business development opportunity strategy that integrates with the overall strategic plan across Dawson.
Main Responsibilities:- Develops and implements a business development opportunity strategy aligned with Dawson's strategic plan.
- Explores opportunities for local businesses to participate in projects as suppliers, subcontractors, or partners, ensuring fair procurement practices support economic development.
- Conducts thorough market research to identify potential opportunities with road construction and maintenance projects.
- Stays informed about local and regional infrastructure development plans and funding opportunities.
- Collaborates with experts to conduct comprehensive assessments of potential project impacts on stakeholder communities.
- Implements sustainable practices in road construction and maintenance to minimize ecological impacts on the environment.
- E nsures that the company's commitment to indigenous relations is reflected in all activities.
- Maintains transparency in all interactions with stakeholders, providing regular reports on project progress, including updates on environmental and social performance.
- A Business Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience in civil construction management or a related field.
- Several years of experience in business development within the construction or infrastructure industry, with a focus on road construction and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of indigenous relations and principles of engagement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-cultural skills.
