Head Kitchen Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Kitchen Manager to join our team at O/A Petro Canada/A&W Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- To establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly.
- To requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed, managing inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize ordering.
- To supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, providing guidance and support as needed.
- To estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, ensuring that we have everything needed to deliver high-quality dishes.
- To hire and train new food service staff, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their roles.
- To ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, monitoring customer feedback and making adjustments as necessary.
- To prepare budget and cost estimates, working with management to optimize kitchen operations and reduce costs.
- To address customer complaints or concerns, responding promptly and professionally to resolve issues.
- To prepare and submit reports on kitchen performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- To establish work schedules for kitchen staff, ensuring that everyone has the support and resources they need to do their jobs effectively.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-food environment.
- Degree in Hospitality, Food Service Management, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with a focus on maintaining a clean and healthy kitchen environment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- A valid Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the industry.
Salary Range:
$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Location:
O/A Petro Canada/A&W Restaurant.
Work Setting:
Fast food outlet or concession.
