We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Charlotte Birchard Centres of Early Learning. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our child care centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs and lead activities that engage children in storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through various media and activities.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.

Requirements:

  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Ability to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
