The successful candidate will participate in process design and engineering activities for medium and large-scale projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining project scope and objectives;
  • Analyzing customer needs to determine optimal process solutions;
  • Performing mass and energy balances;
  • Designing and specifying equipment and process installations;
  • Calculating process utility requirements;
  • Preparing and executing technical plans and specifications;
  • Reviewing and approving technical deliverables and design of PFD and P&ID process diagrams;
  • Participating in risk analyses;
  • Establishing project budgets and schedules;
  • Coordinating installation, start-up, validation, and maintenance of process equipment;
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams;
  • Following up with suppliers, contractors, and customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or biotechnology engineering or other relevant specialty;
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the chemical or industrial industry;
  • Knowledge of norms and standards (ISPE Guides; ASME-BPE);
  • Experience in consulting engineering (asset);
  • Member of the OIQ.

Assets:

  • Factory experience;
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD;
  • Mobility – an asset;
  • Experience with process simulation software such as Superpro Designer, Aspen Hysys, Pipe-Flo, HTRI.
