We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Occupational Health and Safety to join our team at Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety administrative procedures in accordance with federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of school facilities, playgrounds, and other spaces.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for staff on safety protocols, first aid, and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determining root causes and suggesting preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as local health and safety regulators and emergency services.
Requirements:
  • Possess a degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Hold a recognized OHS designation, such as QHSO or NCSO.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a health and safety role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
Work Environment:

The Manager of OHS will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, visiting various school sites and working with individuals at all levels of the division. The role may involve handling emergencies, conducting investigations, and working with sensitive information.
