This role involves direct patient care and requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and transferring of patients, including those with bariatric needs.
Job Summary:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with PCA maintenance and IV initiation
