About the Role:

ICBC is seeking a talented Chief Technology Innovation Strategist to play a key role in defining, realizing, and leveraging ICBC's future technology vision.

In this exciting opportunity, you will build on securing ICBC's existing business system investments to ensure we provide efficient, customer-driven, affordable, and future-focused solutions. As a trusted advisor to partners in IT and the business, you will deliver IT strategies, IT strategic planning, and IT advisory services, including creating reference architectures, technology standards, and ensuring solutions are well architected to support ICBC's hybrid cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage leading cloud practices and services to drive ICBC's journey to cloud.
  • Drive consistency at an enterprise level and ensure solutions align with ICBC strategies and standards.
  • Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to partners in IT and the business.
  • Skilled at identifying and engaging with impacted parties.
  • Able to own, direct, and influence change.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with medium to large-sized organizations to understand the business direction and develop and implement architectural practices and technologies to support ICBC's strategic migration to cloud.
  • Absorbing large amounts of information, analyzing, and synthesizing key ideas and recommendations, and effectively applying your understanding to drive technology and architectural decisions.
  • Drive or lead on-premises technical solution migration to cloud initiatives.
  • Deliver Reference Architecture and technology standards to support the use of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions.
  • Cloud certification and a deep understanding and hands-on experience in AWS and Azure native services would strongly support your effectiveness in this role together with application of the Well Architected Framework (WAF) in your past delivery.

Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following certifications: The Open Group's TOGAF, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience with the following Regulations, Standards, and Frameworks:
    • Payment Card Industry's Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
    • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
    • Privacy Principles (best practices).
    • International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001/2.
    • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
    • Data privacy requirements (FOIPPA) and provincial and federal regulations.
  • Expert in Visio, PowerPoint, and technical documentation.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $130,000 - $170,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience. ICBC provides comprehensive and flexible benefit coverage to all eligible employees, including a defined benefit pension plan, three options of health and dental coverage, 100% employer-paid life insurance, long-term disability, and travel insurance, sick leave plan, and additional optional insurance coverages.
