Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Development Manager to join our AWS Region Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying operational tools to automate processes and reduce operational overhead.

You will work closely with our engineering teams to build and manage massively scaled services, diagnose and resolve customer issues, and track the health of our services. Your expertise in Linux, including permissions management, system logging, and auditing, will be essential in ensuring the security and reliability of our systems.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to communicate effectively with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced leader who can mentor and develop a team of software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and deploy operational tools to automate processes and reduce operational overhead
  2. Work with engineering teams to build and manage massively scaled services
  3. Diagnose and resolve customer issues
  4. Track the health of our services
  5. Communicate effectively with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers
